House Clearance Fowey — Full & Partial
From a single harbour-side room to a whole house up the hill. Every clearance planned around Fowey's quirks — narrow lanes, steep steps, ferries, and neighbours who notice a big van on the quay.

What a full clearance covers
When we say "the whole house", that's what we mean — right up into the loft and right out to the shed.
- Bedrooms, living rooms, kitchen and utility
- Furniture — beds, wardrobes, tables, soft furnishings
- Appliances — fridges, freezers, washing machines, dishwashers
- Kitchen contents, crockery, pans, pantry goods
- Clothing, books, ornaments, papers and personal effects
- Loft, attic, eaves storage — boxes and old furniture
- Garage, shed and outbuildings — tools, paint, bikes, boats and outboards
- Garden — furniture, pots, fencing, branches, general waste
Personal items get checked with you before they leave. Photographs, letters, documents — we set them aside and ring you rather than assume.
Fowey properties we've cleared
Harbourside flats above shops
Shared stairwells, low headroom, no parking on the quay. Hand-carried down in stages.
Old town cottages
Uneven floors, narrow doors, historic timbers. Nothing gets forced.
Hillside houses on the Polruan side
Steep paths and stepped access. Smaller van up top, extra trips where needed.
Riverside homes in Bodinnick
Ferry-only access on the Bodinnick side. Everything goes across by hand or by vehicle ferry.
Holiday lets and second homes
End-of-season clearouts on tight turnarounds. We know when the season ends.
Estates and probate
Handled quietly. Valuables and paperwork checked first, no rush, no judgement.
Prices
Starting points. Final price depends on volume, access, and anything restricted. Nothing changes on the day without your say-so.
Single room
From £70
One bedroom, living space, or equivalent. Cleared and swept.
Part property
From £160
Half the house, or a whole flat or bungalow.
Full property
From £240
All rooms, loft, garage, garden and outbuildings.
Estate clearance
From £400
Handled carefully. Personal items checked first.
What moves the price
- Access — steps from the quay, no stopping space, ferry crossings all add time
- Volume — a single room versus a whole house full
- Condition — hoarded properties take longer and often need several loads
- Restricted items — fridges, freezers, mattresses, pianos, plasterboard, boat parts
Every extra charge is disclosed before we start.
Before and after
A two-bedroom cottage in the old town. Cleared and swept in a single day.

How a clearance runs
1. Get in touch
Call or email. Tell us where the property is and what needs clearing. If it's ferried or stepped, mention that early.
2. Photos or a visit
A few photos usually tell us enough. For unusual properties we'll come and look, free.
3. Written quote
Itemised, no obligation. Same-day for most jobs.
4. Confirm arrangements
Agree a date and time. We'll check parking, ferry times and any access you need to arrange.
5. We do the work
Load, take away, sweep. Property left clean and empty.
Fowey access notes
Fowey is charming and awkward in equal measure. Here's what we plan for:
- Steep streets and steps. Lostwithiel Terrace, Esplanade, and the alleys behind Fore Street. Smaller van at the bottom, everything carried up or down by hand if needed.
- Quay-side parking. Almost no stopping on the quay itself. We agree a nearby drop point and shuttle loads where parking is permitted.
- Ferry access to Polruan and Bodinnick. If the property is across the river, the load crosses by ferry. We plan this around the timetable and factor the extra time into the quote.
- Narrow lanes. Around the old town and up to the church, some roads aren't suitable for a full-size van. We bring the smaller one.
- Holiday letting. Fowey empties and refills on changeover days. If we're clearing a let, we work with the calendar, not against it.

Things people ask
Do you clear properties across the river?
Yes — Polruan and Bodinnick are both covered. The load goes across by ferry and we factor the crossing into the plan and the price.
Can you get down narrow lanes?
Usually. If a full-size van won't fit, we use a smaller one and make more trips. Tell us at quote stage.
Do you handle probate clearances?
Often. Quietly, with documents and valuables checked before anything is touched.
What about boats and outboard motors?
Small boats and outboards are fine. Very large craft need a specialist — we'll tell you honestly if it's beyond us.
How long does a clearance take?
One room — a couple of hours. A three-bed house — a day. Harbour-side jobs with ferry access usually run longer.
Do I need to be there?
Not always. Keys or access instructions are fine. We keep you updated.
What can't you take?
Asbestos, chemicals, oil, clinical waste, and liquids. Everything else goes.
